Helena G. Dirig, 94, of Hancock, passed away on Saturday, July 13, 2013 at Wilson Medical Center, Johnson City, NY. She was born on July 11, 1919, in French Woods, NY, the youngest child of Charles and Victoria (Peake) Dirig. Helena was a member of St. Paul the Apostle Roman Catholic Church, Hancock, The Catholic Daughters, and the Altar Rosary Society. She had worked many years at Camp Hilltop and Hill Manor. Helena was a great example of a kind and faithful woman. She truly touched the lives of everyone she met. Surviving are a sister in law, Patricia Dirig, and several nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends. Helena was predeceased by her siblings, Rev. Walter F. Dirig, CM, Lawrence, Vincent and his wife, Mabel, Edwin, Elizabeth, Sister Marie Madeline (Emma), and Sister Mary Domitilla OSB (Mary). Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, July 17th, 2013 from 5-7PM at the Henderson-Biedekapp Funeral Chapel, Hancock. The Rosary will be said at 6:30PM followed by prayers. A funeral mass will take place on Thursday, July 18th, 2013 at 10:30AM at St. Paul's Church, Hancock, with interment following in St. Francis deSales Cemetery, French Woods, NY. Fr.
