Henry Vriesema, 85, of Hancock, NY went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, March 10, 2015 at Orange Regional Hospital, Middletown NY. He was born one of five children on August 4th 1929 in Midland Park, NJ, the Son of Samuel and Bertha Vriesema. Henry is survived by his brothers Kenneth and Samuel Vriesema. Henry lived with his wife Anna for many years in Goshen, NY where they attended the Goshen Christian Reformed Church. Henry attended the Hancock Baptist Church where he taught Sunday school.Henry enjoyed traveling in his free time, visiting 42 states. He worked at Ford Motor Co. in Mahwah, NJ for 24 yrs, Clemson Bros. in Middletown, NY Quickway Metal Fabricators in Rock Tavern and the Historic track in Goshen, NY. Surviving are 6 children, Henry Jr. and wife Gail, Sally and husband Charles Hoffman, Kenneth, Gary and wife Judie, Thomas and wife Cathy, and Chris and wife Debbie. Also surviving are grandchildren Elizabeth (Pete) Schmidt, Henry (Leanne) Vriesema, Rebecca (Anthony) Monaco, Dena (Mike) Clifford, Christie (Kat) Vriesema-Magnuson, Gwynne (Peter) Mansfield, Jay Coley, Jimmy Vriesema, Danny Vriesema, Scott Vriesema and 6 great grandchildren. Calling hours will be held at the Henderson-Biedekapp Funeral Chapel, Hancock from 1 PM to 3 PM on Sunday, March 15, 2015. There will be a funeral on March 15, 2015 at 3pm also at the funeral chapel. Interment will be in the spring in Riverview Cemetery, Hancock.The family would like to thank all the caregivers that helped Henry during his time of need, especially those at Middletown Park Manor for their tender care that they gave Dad over his last year.Memorial donations can be made in Henry's memory to the Hancock Fire Dept or the Hancock Rescue Squad.
