Obituary

Henry "Fred" Weiss, 94, of East Branch, NY, passed away on January 24, 2018 at home with loved ones at his side. He was born on May 28, 1923 in Englewood, NJ, the son of Charles and Lucy (Neidhardt) Weiss. Fred grew up in Coytesville, NJ, and lived a rich full life. He retired as a Master Plumber in 1981 and relocated to Harvard, NY, to spend his retirement. Fred was a talented artist who loved hunting, fishing, cooking, and gardening. He especially loved children and never met a child he didnt love. Fred was predeceased by his beloved wife, Alice, and granddaughter, Jennifer Mattice, parents, 2 sisters, Lucy Palazzolo and Anna Taus, and 4 brothers, Charlie, Billy, Augie, and Chris Weiss. Fred is survived by daughters, Gale Weiss Longtin, Louise Raab Mattice, Catherine Raab Herget, 1 son, Steven Weiss, 7 grand children, 9 great grandchildren, and 3 great great grandchildren. He is also survived by sister, Ellen Lauderback, 4 brothers, Robert, John, Jimmy, and Otto Weiss, and many beloved nieces and nephews. Calling hours will be held on Monday, January 29, 2018 from 4-7PM and a funeral service will be held on Tuesday, January 30, 2018 at 11AM all at the Henderson-Biedekapp Funeral Chapel, Hancock. Interment will be in Harvard Cemetery in the spring.A memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 10, 2018 at 10AM at Powerhouse Church, 500 Main St., Wycoff, NJ.
