Hilda R. Malinski, 90, of Lake Como, PA, died on Sunday, April 9, 2017 at Barnes Kasson Hospital, Susquehanna, PA, after a short illness. She was born on April 20, 1926 in Lake Como, PA, the daughter of Wilbur and Rose (Murtha) Hunt. Hilda married Thomas Malinski Jr. on November 24, 1949 in Rock Lake, PA, and he predeceased her on October 7, 2016.Hilda was a lifetime member of St. Julianas Catholic Church in Rock Lake. She cleaned the church and the rectory for many years and also baked goods for their annual picnic. Hilda enjoyed cooking and baking and made the best sticky buns and pies. She worked on the Wayne County Election Board for several years as well. Her greatest joy was her family and she loved to spoil her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Surviving are 4 children, Leora Mayo, Michael and wife Sandy Malinski, Christine and husband Marty Loftus, and Linda and husband Gregory Wheeler, 10 grandchildren, Joseph, Crystal, Eileen, Miranda, Sarah, Dawn, Michael, Heidi, Lindsey, and Courtney, and 21 great grandchildren. She is also survived by 1 sister, Eileen Wasko, 1 brother, George Hunt, 2 sisters in law, Dolly Petroski and Celia Reiter, and several nieces and nephews. Hilda was predeceased by a granddaughter, Holly Westbrook, and 2 brothers, Charles and Ralph Hunt. A Liturgy of the Word will be held on Thursday, April 13, 2017 at 11AM at St. Julianas Catholic Church, Rock Lake, PA. Interment will follow in the parish cemetery.
