Iona Kellam, 81, of Starlight, PA, died on Friday, August 15, 2014 at Forest City Nursing and Rehab Center, Forest City, PA. She was born on July 13, 1933 in Winterdale, PA, the daughter of Louis F. and Iona (Forster) Bergman. Iona married Irvin Kellam on July 19, 1957 in Hancock, NY. She was a member of the Emory United Methodist Church also in Hancock, NY.Iona was a Registered Nurse for 35 years. She worked many years at Read Memorial Hospital, Hancock, as the Director of Nurses and Head of the Maternity Ward, assisting and delivering many residents of the area. Upon closure of the hospital, Iona was a Night Supervisor at Roscoe Community Nursing Home and eventually ended her career working in a local doctor's office. She loved to knit and crochet and was a great wife, mother, and grandmother. Surviving are her husband, Irvin, 2 children, Alan and wife Joyce Kellam, and Lori Wood, 10 grandchildren, Abigail Robbins, Alan Jr., Adam, Abram, Anna, Autumn, Amber, and Ayreck Kellam, and Chris and Kim Wood, and 8 great grandchildren. She is also survived by an aunt, Helen Lester, a special friend, Romaine Crawford, and several brother and sisters in law. Iona was predeceased by a brother, Louis C. Bergman. There will be a visitation held on Sunday, August 24th, 2014 from 12:30-1:30 with a memorial service following at 1:30 all at the Henderson-Bidekapp Funeral Chapel, Hancock.
