James Lindsay Latham Jr, 82, of Starlight, PA, died on Wednesday, April 2, 2025 at Guthrie Lourdes Hospital, Binghamton, NY. He was born on August 22, 1942 in Morristown, NJ, the son of James Lindsay and Dorothy (Christy) Latham.
Jim was a respected and proud 58 year member of Alcoholics Anonymous who dedicated his life to helping others find their path to recovery. His unwavering commitment to the fellowship touched countless lives, offering strength, support, and wisdom to those on their journeys.
An avid outdoorsmen, Jim found solace in nature. Whether out hunting, fishing, or spending time with his dogs, he embraced every moment that the great outdoors had to offer. Above all, he cherished his family and the time spent with them.
Jim will be remembered for his strength, his compassion, and the wisdom he shared- a legacy that will continue to inspire all who knew him.
Surviving are his wife, Carolyn Poole Latham; 4 children: Lynne Latham (Jason) Slear, Kimberly (James) Slifer, Cora (Ted) Kim, and Bronwyn Poole (Peter Schmidt); 7 grandchildren: Jarrett and Grace Slear, Carter, Madilynne, and Brady Slifer, and Emily and Audrey Kim; 2 sisters, Christy (Paul) Fowler and Dorothy (Vicki McQuown) Latham; nephew, David (Julie) Fowler; and niece Hillary (Clay) Coffee and their beloved children. Jim is also survived by his beloved dog, Muffin.
Calling hours will be held on Saturday, April 12, 2025 from 4PM-6PM at the Henderson-Biedekapp Funeral Chapel, Hancock, NY. James will be buried in Restland Memorial Park, East Hanover, NJ, on Saturday, April 19, 2025 at 11AM.
