James A. McDonald passed peacefully March 8, 2018 with his family at his side.Born January 27, 1937 to Francis and Lillian (Schultz) McDonald, Jim grew up in Queens NY. After High school Jim served in the U.S. Army from 1958-1961. A lifelong outdoorsmen, Jim spent time upstate hunting with friends where he met his wife, Dawn in 1977.Jim will be dearly missed by his loving wife Dawn (Thomas) McDonald, their son Chris Thomas and daughter-in-law Chrissy, Grandsons Greyson James and Cameron William, As well as Step-Daughter Heather and son-in-law Jamie Schoonmaker, Grandchildren Christopher, Cassandra and Thomas.Also surviving is his sister Kathleen Specchio, Jimmy and Lisa McDonald, along with several nieces and nephews. Jim was predeceased by his parents, his Brother John, Brother-in-laws Alton, Ernie, Rick and Sister-in-law Naomi. Family and Friends will gather March 17th, 2018 at noon for a memorial luncheon at the Hancock firemens clubrooms, Park St, Hancock NY.In Lieu of Flowers, donations can be made in Jims memory to the Hancock Fire Dept.
