James D. Phillips, 77, of Johnson City, NY, died on Friday, December 4, 2015 at Willow Point Nursing Home, Vestal , NY. He was born on May 19, 1938 in Hancock, NY, the son of Wilber and Eloise (Leonard) Phillips. Jim married Linda Corison on July 7th, 1964 and she predeceased him on May 5, 2012. Jim was a simple man with a big heart. He loved fishing, going for car rides, and just sitting by the water.Surviving are 1 sister, Ruth and husband George Miller, Johnson City, NY, and 1 brother, Gary and wife Clara Phillips, Hancock, NY. He is also survived by special niece, Sharon Adams, special nephew, Phillip and wife Margie Brooks, sister in law, Margaret Phillips and family, and many nieces, nephews, and friends. Jim was predeceased by his parents, 1 sister, Evelyn Kilmer, 2 brothers, Ronald and Russell Phillips, 1 niece, Pamela Hayward, and 1 nephew, Sam Phillips. A graveside service will be held on Saturday, December 12, 2015 at 2PM in Riverview Cemetery, Hancock, NY. The family wishes to thank the staff at Willow Point Nursing Home for the excellent care of Jim, especially to Brenda, Jerry, and Jennifer. Donations can be made in Jim's memory to the Broome Co.
