Janice L. Regan, 80, of Hancock, NY, died on Saturday, April 11, 2026 at Wilson Medical Center, Johnson City, NY, after an illness. She was born on June 29, 1945 in Danbury, CT, the daughter of Henry and Olive (Palmer) French.
Jan married Herbert Regan and he predeceased her. She was a longtime valued member of the Readburn Gospel Church, where she was the secretary. She worked 20+ years for Bard Parker, both in Danbury, CT and in Hancock, NY, and 10 years as a CNA at Roscoe Nursing Home before she retired. Jan enjoyed ceramics in her free time and participated in all the activities at her church.
Surviving are children, Michael Regan and Colleen Regan; 2 grandchildren, Chris Tyte and Rich Tyte Jr.; and great grandchildren: Megan, Owen, Erik, and Alex; niece, Cheryl Gillen; great niece, Courtney Bennetti; niece, Linda Marois; nephew, Edward Marois; nephew, John Lutinski; niece, Carol Jones; Tina Mesmer and Paul Goebel Jr. who grew up with Jan and were like her children; and her church family and friends. Jan was predeceased by her mother, father, and step mother, Louisa French; 2 children, Debbie and Mary Regan; sister, Pauline Petersen; step sister, Gloria VanMeter; foster brother, Charles Butler; granddaughter, Jennifer Daley; and niece, Wendy Schweppe.
A memorial service will be held to celebrate Jan’s life on Saturday, April 18, 2026 at 1PM at the Readburn Gospel Church. Burial will be at a later date in St. Peter’s Cemetery, Danbury, CT.
