Jean Marie Ramburg, 84, of Hancock, passed away at home on Thursday, January 2, 2014 surrounded by her family and one of her cats by her side. She was born on March 27, 1929 in Cadosia to Raymond and Harriet (Baxter) Hunter. Jean married James Allen Ramburg on June 12, 1948 in Hancock and he predeceased her on July 7, 2000. She is survived by her children J. Signe Taylor of Cadosia and DeLeon Springs, FL, Alan Ramburg of Cadosia, and Jackie Galietta (Robert Kathmann) of East Meredith; grandchildren Alison (CJ) Lorenc (who are expecting Jean's first great-grandchild) of Binghamton, Jamison Galietta of Hancock, William (Shannon) Ramburg of Panama City, FL and his brother Michael Rowe of Downsville. Jean is also survived by her sisters Lorraine Wylam of Endwell and Sally Wahl (John Werfan) of Beverly Hills, FL. She was predeceased by her brother and sister-in-law Donald and Vera (Hazen) Hunter, and brother-in-laws Norman Wylam and Herbert Wahl. Jean is further survived by several nieces and nephews. She held a 'special place' in her heart for Louise Martin Picozzi who tended to her needs for several years. Jean devoted her life to to her family, always giving and always loving unconditionally. There are no words to describe all the love she held in her heart, and no words to describe how much she will be missed. She was the 'rock' of the family. Jean was a member of the First Presbyterian Church and had been a member of several local organizations in her younger years.Services will be held on Monday, January 6th, 2014 at Henderson-Biedekapp Funeral Chapel in Hancock with calling hours at noon until 1:00 and a memorial service to follow at 1:00 with Pam Allen officiating. Interment will follow in Riverview Cemetery, Hancock.Jean's heart was touched by the Shriners Hospital for Children, 2900 Rocky Point Drive, Tampa FL 33607 and requested that donations be sent there in lieu of flowers, or to a local organization of your choice.
