Joan Geer, 69, of Hancock, NY, passed away suddenly on Sunday, June 4th, 2023 at home. She was born on September 25, 1953 in Walton, NY, the daughter of Harland and Juanita Walley. Joan married Robert M. Geer in November of 1970 and he predeceased her on June 11, 1993.

Joan graduated from Hancock Central School. She was employed by Becton Dickinson in Hancock, NY, until the failing health of her husband caused her to leave her job to care for him. Joan enjoyed time with her children and grandchildren. She especially loved time spent with her great granddaughter, Scarlett.

Surviving are 2 children, Jake and wife Sarah (Malinski) Geer, and Melissa and husband Bill Crandall; 2 grandsons, Christopher and Aaron Geer; 1 great granddaughter, Scarlett; 3 sisters: Rosemary Moore, Michele Wormuth, and Gloria Schror; brother in law, Paul and wife Diane Geer; and many nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews. Joan was predeceased by her parents; 4 brothers: Harland, Russel, Donald, and Gearald; 5 sisters: Virginia, Pearl, Linda, Debbie, and Ruth; and mother and father in law, Richard and Joyce Geer.

Joan's wishes were for cremation with no services. Burial will be private in Riverview Cemetery, Hancock. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
