John "Jack" Francisco, 65, of Shehawken, PA passed away after his courageous battle with cancer on August 8, 2019 in Hancock, NY. He was born on January 9, 1954 in Hancock, NY to Alice (Augustine) and the late Max Francisco.
Jack graduated from Hancock Central School in 1972. On August 12, 1978 he married Susan (Tracy) Francisco, and together they had three children. Jack was a devoted son, father, grandfather and friend. He was his mothers handyman, a "jack of all trades". Jacks children could call him any time and he would drop what he was doing to help them, even if it was just to lend an ear. He loved his grandchildren very much and tried to never miss a game, concert or activity that they were participating in.
Jack made his career in architecture, designing buildings across the Greater Binghamton area. He had a passion for bass fishing and billiards, but baseball was his true love. Jacks love of baseball started when he was a child and he played pick up games with the neighborhood kids. His involvement of the game progressed from playing, volunteering as a coach, to becoming an accomplished umpire. In the springtime Jack was busy running from town to town umpiring college and high school baseball games as part of the Binghamton Umpire Association. During the summertime, Jack became a mainstay at Cooperstown Dreams Park, umpiring for the past six summers for teams from all around the world.
Jack will always hold a special place in his heart for the last baseball team he coached. He coached them from t-ball through Junior Varsity. He had the pleasure of watching them grow into good players, a great team, and fine young men.
Jack is survived by his daughter, Melinda (Dale) Conklin, of Hancock, NY, son, Nash Francisco of Grand Rapids, MI, and daughter, Autumn (Gregory) Nibert, of Wheat Ridge, CO, as well as four grandchildren: Max, Shane, Rowan and Stryker. He is also survived by his mother, Alice Francisco, of Hancock, NY, sisters, Maxine (Paul) Kovalkoski, of Scranton, PA, and Melissa (Chris) Newman, of Hancock, NY, brother Tim Francisco, of Hancock, NY, and many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. Jack was predeceased by his father, Max Francisco.
