It is with great sadness that the family of Joseph P. McLaughlin announce his passing on October 30, 2023, after a brief illness. Joe was a born in Mount Vernon, NY on November 30, 1957, and for the past few years lived in Starlight, PA. Joe was an avid fly-fisherman, who expertly tied his own flies and fished the waters of upstate New York to Pennsylvania and Montana. Joe was a dog-lover and had many throughout his life including Jake that passed recently.

Joseph graduated from Blessed Sacrament Highschool in New Rochelle, NY with a Regents diploma. He was a carpenter with Local 608 in NYC and worked on many projects in Manhattan including renovations at the Guggenheim Museum and the library reconstruction of the Hackley School in Tarrytown, NY.

Joe was predeceased by his father Joseph and mother Edith McLaughlin. He is survived by his brothers James, Michael, Paul and Kevin and his sisters-in-law Linda, Andrea and Margaret. Additionally, he is survived by his nieces and nephews Gail, Melissa, Terrence, Lauren, John, Connor, Hunter, Tyler and Christian as well as many friends and family.

He will be buried at Mount Hope cemetery in Hastings, NY. A private ceremony will be held at later date.
