Joyce S. Early of Sherman, PA, passed away peacefully at Barnes Kasson Nursing Home on November 6th, 2018. She was born May 28, 1926 to Laura and Delbert Shofkom in Sherman, Pa. She married the love of her life, Paul Smith Early on May 31, 1947, who predeceased her on September 11, 2015. Joyce is survived by one brother, Faris Shofkom and predeceased by 3 sisters, Anita Criddle, Cordia Conklin, and Delores Hafele. Joyce was a loving and devoted mother to daughter Glenna and husband Bruce Novak and daughter Joan Decker and life partner Patrick Gorman, Grand Children Alicia (Decker) and Nicolas Mastropietro and Lindsey (Novak) and William Pucci, and deceased, Ryan Novak. She was blessed with 3 Great Grand Children and many nieces and nephews and grandnieces and nephews. Joyce worked various jobs from being Secretary and bookkeeper on their farm and later their contracting business, to owning and operating her own alterations business in Deposit, NY (Mends N Hems). She enjoyed meeting and talking to her customers many of which became very good friends. Joyce loved people and was happiest when her home was filled with family and friends. Her husband, children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren were her greatest joy and caring for them her greatest pleasure.
