Karen Marie Mech, 50, of Equinunk PA, passed away on Sunday, October 12, 2025 at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville, PA surrounded by her loving family. She is survived by her long-term significant other, Kevin Costello; her son, Ethan Hunt; her parents, Karol and Kathleen Mech; her siblings Michael (Amy) Mech, Michelle (Jon) Wolbert, Sarah Mech and David (Jennifer) Mech; her nieces and nephews, Joshua Wolbert, Daniel Mech, Jacob Wolbert, Macy Mech, Olivia Mech, Carson Zablocky and Evan Mech. She is also survived by Sean, Draven, Audrey and Maverick Costello.

Karen worked at Wayne Memorial Hospital in Honesdale, PA where she was a Pharmacist Technician for 18 years. Everyone always loved seeing Karen in the halls of the hospital.

Karen had a contagious smile that lightened up the room and made everyone feel warm inside. She had a wonderful sense of humor that could make anyone laugh. She was a generous, caring person who would always help someone in need. Karen always put everyone before herself. True to Karen's nature, one of her last acts of selflessness, was to donate her organs so that four individuals had a chance for life.

Karen loved spending time with her family and friends. You could often find Karen floating down the Delaware river, helping out with benefits, going to concerts and hanging out with friends. She especially loved being in her pool league at Carol's Bar.

Calling hours will be on Saturday, October 18, 2025 from 10am – 12:30pm followed by a memorial service at 12:30pm all at the Henderson-Biedekapp Funeral Chapel, Hancock NY.
