IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Kathryn M.
May
June 20, 1937 – February 20, 2026
It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our mother, Kathryn "Sally" Marie (Bloomer) May, at her home in Fishs Eddy, NY, on February 20, 2026, following a brief illness.
Born June 20, 1937 to Alfred and Ila (Whipple) Bloomer, Sally married the love of her life, George May, on July 28, 1956. Together they raised four daughters and created a life filled with family, love, and laughter.
Sally was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, known for her sense of humor and warm heart. She dedicated many summers to her work at Camp Ramah, where she was a valued employee and formed lasting friendships. Above all, her greatest joy was being "MaMay", to her family and loved ones.
She enjoyed watching the hummingbirds, solving crytoquote puzzles, playing the lottery and Monday night family dinners. In her later years, Sally especially cherished her phone calls with her dear friends, Sally Bojo and Bertha Schoonmaker.
Sally is survived by her four daughters: Sally (Glenn), Brenda (Chris), Carol, and Luann (Ben); her grandchildren: Bridget (Randy), Jason (Sha), Justin (Beth), Nathan, Derek, and Darin (Shannon); her great grandchildren: Sage (Pat), Erin, Lana (Luke), Conner, Dawson, Chase, Daemyn, Cason, Karissa, Cade, Dayne, Owen, Beau, and Mackenzie; her great-great-granddaughter, Blaire, her beloved cat, Tigger; her siblings, Jeanie, Rita, Jim and George; her brother-in-law, Gene; her close friend, Bertha, and many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, George; and her parents, Alfred and Ila Bloomer.
She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.
We wish to express our sincere gratitude to Rolland Bojo and family for everything they have done for our mother over the years and to Bertha Schoonmaker and Sally Bojo for their countless calls and visits. Out heartfelt appreciation to Dr. Freeman, along with the nurses and staff at DVH for their compassionate care, and lastly to hospice and to Beth Horton, Shannon Keesler, and Beth Gennarino for the loving care shown to our mother during the final stage of her journey.
Donations may be made in Sally's memory to the Town of Hancock Ambulance, P.O. Box 733, Hancock, NY 13783.
