Lauren "Butch" Wormuth, 73, of Hancock, NY, died unexpectedly on Monday, September 2, 2019 in Andover, VT, where he had been residing and working at Horse Shoe Acres Campground for the past 5 years. Butch was born on October 9, 1946 in Hancock, NY, the son of Lauren and Gloria Wormuth. He married the love of his life Mechele Walley on May 19, 1975. Butch was a stone cutter for many years of his life and worked various other jobs in the Hancock area. He enjoyed going ice fishing and hunting and he loved his garden and his flowers. He especially loved his spicy foods. His famous last words, "try it, its not hot", fooled people many times and they kept falling for it over and over again! Butch was a great man who had a smile that would light up a room and could talk for hours. Surviving are his wife of 44 years, Mechele, 5 children, Lauren (Butch) and wife Joni Stark, Ron Stark, Rhonda and husband Dave VanLoan, Justin and wife Renta Wormuth, and Crystal Cleveland, 11 grandchildren, Kyle, Drew, and Arissa Stark, Trevor VanLoan, Bailey VanLoan, and Austin, Megan, Seth, Benjamin, Anjelika, and Theodore Wormuth, and 4 great granddaughters, Mia, Tessa, Kora, and Kensley VanLoan. He is also survived by his mother Gloria, 2 sisters, Connie Evans and Oddette Winchell, 1 brother, Randy Wormuth, and several nieces and nephews. Butch was predeceased by his father, Lauren, and 1 brother, Todd Wormuth. A memorial service will be held on Sunday, September 8, 2019 at 1PM at the Henderson-Biedekapp Funeral Chapel, Hancock. Donations can be made in Butchs memory to the Horse Shoe Acres Campground, 1978 Weston-Andover Rd., Andover, VT, 05143 for the construction of a memorial garden or a new playground.
