Lawrence E. McCallin, 71, of Hancock, NY, passed away on Friday, July 13, 2018 at home after a short illness. He was born on July 23, 1946 in Manhattan, NY. Larry started his early years in golf courses where he worked at Nevele Country Club Golf Course as superintendent for 12 years and he was a consultant at Shawangunk Country Club and Tamarack Golf Course. Larry also worked at the Lake Anne Country Club in Monroe as construction manager and golf course superintendent. Prior to this, Larry worked at the ARC in Fallsburg, where he was superintendent and plant manager of maintenance and buses and met his wife, Celia, who was a social worker at the Day Treatment Program. During their recent years in Hancock, they established the L.E. McCallin Plumbing, Heating, and Electrical Business. Larrys skill and his faith in God made the difference in communicating with people. They were both members of the Readburn Assembly of God for many years. Surviving is his wife of 25 years, Celia Prisco-McCallin of Baguio City, Philippines. Many thanks are extended to Larry's friends, neighbors, brothers and sisters in Christ, and everyone who lended a helping hand during his illness. Also to the nurses, doctors, and Catskill Area Hospice for all their care in Larry's final days.
