Obituary

Lawrence "Larry" A. Simpson, 66, of Lakewood, PA, died Tuesday, October 21, 2014 at home. He was born on May 18, 1948 in Sidney, NY, the son of Stephen and Ann (Hagenmeier) Simpson. Larry graduated from Hancock Central School in 1966. He then earned his Bachelor's Degree from Mansfield University, where he was a member of Sigma Tau Gamma Fraternity. Larry owned several local businesses including the Delaware Inn and Delaware Carting. His last place of employment was with Costello Industries. He was a member of the Hancock Chamber of Commerce, for many years, the Sons of the American Legion, and the Lake Como Lions Club. Larry can be remembered as a diehard Giants and Yankee Fan and he enjoyed hunting, fishing, and golf. Surviving are his brother, Randy and wife Patsy Simpson, lifelong companion, Roseann Simpson, 3 nephews, Stephen and wife Brandy Simpson, Brady Simpson, and John and wife Crystal Ferrari, and 1 niece, Nicole and husband Scott Woodmansee. He is also survived by 5 great nieces, Elizabeth, Logan, Stevie Grace, Haylee, and Scottie Lin, 2 great nephews, Wyatt and Stephen Joseph, aunt, Ruby Hagenmeier, and many cousins. Larry was predeceased by his parents and uncle, Alfred Hagenmeier. Calling hours will be held on Friday, October 24, 2014 from 5-8PM at the Henderson-Biedekapp Funeral Chapel, Hancock. A funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, October 25, 2014 at 10:30AM at St. Juliana's Roman Catholic Church, Rock Lake, PA, with burial following in the parish cemetery. Memorial donations can be made in Larry's memory to Hospice of the Sacred Heart, 600 Baltimore Dr., Wilkes Barre, PA 18702.
