Leo E. "Hoss" Mead, 71, of Starlight, PA, died on Friday, September 23, 2016 at home, after a short illness. He was born on July 29, 1945 in North Sanford, NY, the son of Leroy and Thelma (Decker) Mead. Hoss married Nan O'Connor on November 15, 1986. He mowed roadside for Preston Township for 20 years. Hoss enjoyed hunting and fishing. He loved his animals, but most of all, loved spending time with his family. Surviving are wife, Nan, 2 children, Mark and wife Robin, and Holly Sullivan, 2 step children, Amy and husband Phil Green, and Judd Jr. and wife Barbara Brush, and 11 grandchildren, Bryar, Jasmyn, Autumn, David, and Grace Mead, Korbin, Triniti, and Sierra Sullivan, and Colin, Gavin, and Fayth Green. He is also survived by 7 brothers, Norman and wife June, Keith "Tuffy" and wife Sheila, Stanley "Joe" and wife Linda, Larry "Dip" and wife Nancy, Tony and wife Lisa, Teddy and wife Audrey, and Freddie and wife Joan, 4 sisters, Rachel and husband Charles Hunt, Roseleen "Rosie" and husband Edward Whitmore, Judy Mead, and Debbie Mead, 1 sister in law, Joy Mead, and many nieces and nephews. Hoss was predeceased by 2 brothers and 1 sister in law, Raymond "Buck" and Bentley and wife Patricia. A graveside service will be held on Saturday, October 1, 2016 at 10AM in Balls Eddy Cemetery, Starlight, PA, and all are welcome.
