Lila M. Gotthardt, 92, of Hancock, NY, died on Monday, December 27, 2021 at Allied Skilled Nursing Center, Scranton, PA, where she resided for 8 years. She was born on June 12, 1929 in Hancock, the daughter of Ralph and Zelma (Smith) Thomas. Lila enjoyed puzzles and bingo and she always kept everyone on their toes! Surviving are 4 children: Valentine Gotthardt III, Norwich, NY; Sharon (Stan) Spangenberg, Lake Como, PA; Kathy Mead, Lakewood, PA; and Penny McVey, Lakewood, PA; 7 grandchildren: Mark (Robin) Mead, Holly Mead Sullivan, James (Shana) Delaney, John (Donka) Delaney, Richard (Alex) McVey, Stanley Spangenberg, and Tiffany Scully; 15 great grandchildren, and 2 great great grandchildren. Lila was predeceased by her son, Vincent Gotthardt and her son in law, Bart McVey. A graveside service will be held in the spring in Walton Cemetery, Walton, NY.
