IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Lori R.
Manarky
August 22, 1963 – November 14, 2025
Lori Renee Manarky, 62, of Port Crane, New York, passed peacefully at her residence on November 14, 2025.
Lori was born August 22, 1963, in West Windsor, New York to the late Jack and Edith Manarky. In her childhood she enjoyed playing sports, especially basketball and softball, and spending time with friends. She loved to travel and enjoyed music, often sharing special memories of visiting her favorite East Coast light houses and Elton John. After graduating Broome Community College she worked hard to achieve a leadership position at E.H. Titchener. In 1985, Lori married Richard D. Kane, of Afton, and they settled down in Port Crane, New York with their two children and remained together until Richard's passing in 1995. She never remarried. Lori was a caregiver, raising her two children and receiving a second degree in nursing in 2006. She spent the remainder of her professional life working for Lourdes Hospital in Binghamton, New York where she met many lifelong friends.
She loved animals and had several in her life, and many laughs were had over her Australian cattle dog, Bindi. She had a special sort of humor and was always prepared with a quip or silly observation. Lori found joy in her family and loved when they could come together, especially if it was by a beach. She had an impressive green thumb and spent many summers in her yard taking care of her garden: she would frequently find herself with so much produce she couldn't give it all away. In the winter, she was a jack-of-many-trades, and frequently enjoyed hobbies such as sewing, crocheting and cooking.
Lori is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Kyle and Haley Manarky of Chenango Bridge, New York, her daughter Chelsea Manarky of Tacoma, Washington, her grandchildren Gunnar and Jack, and her brother Kevin Manarky.
In accordance with Lori's wishes the family will not be holding a service.
In lieu of flowers the family is asking for donations to be made in her memory to support Cape Hatteras National Park, Lori's favorite place to visit.
Arrangements by Henderson-Biedekapp Funeral Chapel, Hancock.
