Obituary

Lorna J. Wormuth Lorna Jane (Ives) Wormuth, 73, passed away suddenly on March 13, 2013 at Delaware Valley Hospital, Walton. She was born in Hancock on September 9, 1939, the daughter of George Bassett and Carrie (Merwin) Ives. Lorna married Francis Wormuth on March 22, 1983. She grew up in Centerville, NY, and was a graduate of Downsville Central School. She moved to Mexico, NY, in 1966 and was a homemaker and a secretary for the Oswego County BOCES for a short period of time. In 1981, she returned to Centerville and was a secretary for the Round Up Ranch and she was also a Home Care Provider. Lorna was a lifelong member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Victoria Chapter 205 Mexico, NY, where she served as Worthy Matron in 1972. She was a proud Republican and an active member of the Delaware County Board of Elections for many years. Lorna was a member of the Damtown Players and enjoyed playing the piano and clarinet. She loved her church as well as her flower and vegetable gardens and watching birds. Lorna also loved writing poems and enjoyed making crafts of all kinds for herself, her family, and for church auctions. Surviving are her husband, Francis Wormuth, 7 children, K. Mark Green, East Branch, NY, Lisa (Wormuth) and husband David Weiss, Poughkeepsie, NY, Alvin Wormuth & Joan Gilsenan, Savannah, GA, Rhonda (Green) and husband Jim Williams, Mexico, NY, Sheri Green, Liverpool, NY, Shawn and wife Nicole Green, East Branch, NY and Bobbi (Green) and husband David Cicio, East Branch, NY, 20 grandchildren and 1 great grand daughter. Lorna was predeceased by her father in 1970, her mother in 1999, and her brother, Egbert Ives in 2004. A service was held Saturday, March 16th, 2013, at the Henderson-Biedekapp Funeral Chapel, Hancock, NY where Pastor Dale Ashby officiated. Interment followed in Harvard Cemetery, Harvard, NY.
