Lorraine Wylam, of East Branch, formerly of Endwell, NY, passed away at the home of her niece, Lori Lamica-Nelson (Keith) on August 22, 2025.
She was born in Cadosia, NY, the daughter of Raymond and Harriet Hunter. Lorraine graduated from Hancock Central School and Albany Business College before marrying Norman Wylam, who predeceased her in 2008. They had one son, her beloved Stephen Gary, also of Endwell and East Branch, NY, that predeceased Lorraine in 2023.
After a 30 year career at Binghamton University, Lorraine retired. She was active in her beloved church, Endwell United Methodist Church, where she served in several different capacities.
In addition to her husband and son, she was predeceased by her sister and brother-in-law, Jean and Jim Ramburg, Hancock, and their son, Alan; brother Donald, Walton; and brother-in-law, Herbert D. Wahl, Hancock.
Survivors include, her sister, Sally Wahl, previously of Deleon Springs, FL, now of East Branch, and her children: Melody Scavo, NC, Lori, NY, Gary Wahl, FL, and Gregory Wahl, NC; and her 3 grandsons: David Scavo, Harrison Wahl, and Dr. Austin Lamica. Also surviving are Jean's family: daughters, Jackie Galietta, NY, and Signe Ramburg, FL and NY; granddaughter, Alison Lorenc and her daughter, Keller, Binghamton, NY; and grandson, Jamison Galietta and Donald's children: Tyrone, AZ, and Jane, NY.
A graveside service will be held in Riverview Cemetery, Hancock, NY at the convenience of the family.
Donations can be made in Lorraine's memory to the Memorial Fund, Endwell United Methodist Church, 3301 Watson Blvd., Endwell, NY, 13760.
The family wishes to thank the employees of LaValley's Loving Care Home, Tina Kokoszka and Kevin McCarthy for their exemplary care, which allowed Lorraine to remain at home in her final years.
