Louis M. "Doug" Carey Jr., 57, of Laurence Harbor, NJ, died unexpectedly on February 17, 2017 at home. He was born on May 11, 1959 in Carbondale, PA, the son of Louis M. and Gwendolyn (Ellett) Carey. Doug was a lifetime member of the Laurence Harbor Fire Department as well as an EMT for Laurence Harbor and in previous years, for Ellis Island. Doug served in the US Marine Corp for 15 years and was currently an EMT and Dispatcher at the Philadelphia Naval Base. Surviving are his mother, Gwen, 5 siblings, Cathy and husband Donnie Denham, Philip Carey, Sean Carey, Denise Baier, and Robert Baier, and several nieces and nephews. A visitation will be held on Friday, February 24, 2017 from 4-6PM at the Day Funeral Home, 361 Maple Place, Keyport, NJ, 07735 as well as on Sunday, February 26, 2017 from 1-3PM at the Henderson-Biedekapp Funeral Chapel, 29 E. Main St., Hancock, NY 13783. A funeral service will be held on Sunday, February 26, 2017 following the visitation at 3PM at Henderson-Biedekapp Funeral Chapel.
