Margaret Palermo, 85, of East Branch died on Wednesday, April 2, 2014 at Wilson Medical Center, Johnson City, NY. She was born, the 8th child of 9, on April 17, 1928 in NYC, the daughter of Barney and Margaret Palermo. Margaret entered Letchworth Village on October 1, 1937, where she became a house girl, caring for small children. She was discharged from there on April 4, 1973 and entered into family care. While in family care, Margaret participated in many programs through the Delaware County ARC, the last being the Maple Leaf Program. She faithfully attended the East Branch United Methodist Church. Margaret was a jokester and enjoyed needle point projects and she took great pride in family and family outings. Surviving are her loving caretakers, Vicky and Jack Norwood, longtime friend, Jeff Craft, housemates, Carlee, Barb, and Sara, and many close friends. There will be 1 hour for viewing on Monday, April 7, 2014 from 1-2 with a service following at 2 all at the East Branch United Methodist Church, East Branch, NY. Burial will follow in East Branch Cemetery. Memorial donations can be made to the East Branch United Methodist Church.
