Martha E. Overeem, 73, of Starlight, PA, died on Saturday, December 19, 2015, at her sons home, after a short illness. She was born on September 7, 1942 in Starlight, PA, the daughter of Edson and Claira Bell (Pobge) Allen. Martha married Peter Overeem on October 15, 1989 and he predeceased her on October 8, 2004. Surviving are 2 sons, Joseph Skurski, and Michael and wife Cathy Skurski, 1 daughter, Laura Claxton, and 4 grandchildren, Michael Claxton, and Michael Jr, Christopher, and Mackenzie Skurski. She is also survived by 4 sisters, Ethelyn Frey, Velma Graham, Audrey Buell, and Roberta Pope, 3 brothers, Edwin Sr. and wife Edna Allen, Norman and wife Gail Allen, and Clair Allen, and many nieces and nephews. Martha was predeceased by 1 brother, Garfield Allen, and 2 sisters, Anna Smith and Emily Hope. The family would like to thank Wayne Memorial Hospice, Honesdale, PA, for the care provided to Martha. A memorial service will be held on Monday, December 28, 2015 at 11AM at the First Baptist Church, Deposit, NY. Rev Robert Matthews will officiate.
