Martin B. Keesler "Marty" was born on May 21, 1939 in East Branch, NY, to Ryle and Florence Ellsworth Keesler and was the youngest of 9 children. He went to be with our Lord on August 27, 2019 surrounded by his family. He leaves behind his bride of 59 years, Rita, his daughters Ginger Taggart of SC, Jody Millard of PA, and a special daughter Elaine (Ellis) Lehr of Binghamton, and their spouses, Dan Taggart, Jeff Millard, and Bob Lehr. He also leaves behind his grandchildren, Alicia Persbacker of Hancock and husband, Mitch, Joshua Millard of Arizona and wife Ashley, Jackie Millard of SC, Leanne Norwood of SC, Rhonda Reynolds of Hobart, and Andrea Reynolds of Deposit, as well as 16 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Marty was predeceased by both of his parents and all 9 siblings, as well as his daughter, Candace, and grandson, Tony Eggler. Marty was employed for more than 30 years by Johnston and Rhodes Bluestone Company of East Branch and retired from there as a foreman. He also worked in the stone quarry on the weekends and was a logger in his early years. Marty enjoyed being outside and was one of the founding members of the Twin Rivers Rifle and Pistol Club. He loved hunting and ice fishing, 4 wheeling, and tinkering in his shop. He was a proud member of the NRA and the East Branch Fire Department. Time spent with Marty was never boring, he would make sure of it! A memorial service will be held at the East Branch Cemetery on September 15, 2019 at 2PM with a gathering at the East Branch Firehouse following services for those who wish to celebrate his life.
