Obituary

Mary E. Hibbard, loving Mother, Mother-In-Law, Grandmother, and Great Grandmother died August 17, 2022 in Tavares, Florida. Mary is survived by her three Daughters: Nancy Zacharias, Priscilla (Norm) Jacobsen, and Kim (David) Tibbetts; by her Brother-In-Law, Richard Hibbard; by her 3 Grandsons: Brian (Meghan) Jacobsen , Christopher Zacharias & Will Tibbetts, by her 3 Great Grandchildren: Dylan Wade, Bradley Jacobsen, and Alexis Jacobsen; and by several Nieces, Great Nieces, and Cousins. Mary was predeceased by her Husband, Lloyd Hibbard; by her Father and Mother: Clarence "C.D." & Irene Hathaway; by her Brother, Robert Laramie Hathaway; by her Father and Mother-In-Law, Paul and Gladys Hibbard; and by her Son-In-Law, Richard Zacharias. Mary was born August 27, 1926 and was a graduate of Deposit Central High School, Class of 1944. Following graduation, Mary attended Binghamton General Hospital School of Nursing where she received her LPN licensure. She worked at Deposit Hospital and later cared for elderly residents in the community. On December 7, 1946 Mary married Lloyd Hibbard in Deposit, NY. Mary was a member of the Deposit First United Methodist Church where, over the years, she was the Financial Secretary, oversaw the church Sunday School , and for many years sang in the choir, which she loved doing. She also loved covering for Zacharias Funeral Home taking calls, helping to set up for services, and setting up flowers. She was occasionally heard to say how much she would have loved to have been a funeral director. Calling Hours will be held at the Deposit First United Methodist Church on Saturday, August 27, 2022 from 11:00 AM - 1:00 PM. Following Calling Hours, a Funeral Service will be held at the church at 1:00 PM with Pastor Deb Arnold Officiating. Burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery, Stilesville, NY. Memorial contributions may be made to Deposit First United Methodist Church, 109 Second St., Deposit, NY 13754 in memory of Mary Hibbard.
