Mary Katherine "Kate" Jacobs, 50, of French Woods, NY, passed away on Sunday, June 7, 2020 at home after a year long battle with cancer. She was born on December 6, 1969 in Binghamton, NY, the youngest child of 9, to Donald H. and Thea M. (Wormuth) Newman. Kate married Todd C. Jacobs on August 12, 1995 in Equinunk, PA. Family and friends meant everything to her. She loved their trips to Myrtle Beach, kayaking, and she especially loved watching her 2 sons play sports. Kate was a simple person who was happy to just sit and chat with the people who mattered most to her. Surviving are her husband, Todd, 2 sons, Ethan and Wyatt, 6 siblings, Thomas H., Edward E. (Anita), Cynthea J. (Buddy) Coe, Don A. (Carla), Chris R. (Missi), and Beth A. (Tom) Hanna, sister in law, Laneta Newman, many nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, great great nieces and nephews, and cousins. Kate is also survived by her mother in law, Sharon Jacobs as well as many members of the Jacobs family. She was predeceased by 2 brothers, David H and Michael J., her parents, and her father in law, Wayne Jacobs. Family will receive friends from 10AM-11AM and a celebration of Kates life will be held at 11AM all at the Pavilion at French Woods Golf and Country Club on Friday, June 12, 2020. Due to current COVID-19 regulations, it is asked that social distancing is practiced and masks are worn. Private interment will follow in Riverview Cemetery, Hancock.
