Mary Jane Sherman, 88, of Hancock, NY, died on Thursday, May 19, 2016, at Roscoe Nursing Home, Roscoe, NY. She was born on March 30, 1928 in Easton, PA, the daughter of Guy and Leora (Gerhardt) Trimpey. Mary Jane married George W. Sherman on January 1, 1948 and he predeceased her on January 17, 1996. She was dedicated to her children and her home. Surviving are 4 children, Rebecca Sander (Gilbert Hubbell), Carla Simpson, Douglas (Sharon, and Craig, 9 grandchildren, Jeff and Greg Konchar, Phillip Sander, Steve and Brady Simpson, Nicole Woodmansee, Alexandra Moore, and Mary and Craig Jr. Sherman, and 8 great grandchildren. She is also survived by 1 brother, Roger (Pat) Trimpey and several nieces and nephews. Mary Jane was predeceased by 1 sisters, Lee and Susan, and 1 brother, Bob. Calling hours will be held on Sunday, May 22, 2016 from 2-4 at the Henderson-Biedekapp Funeral Chapel, Hancock. A funeral will be held on Monday, May 23, 2016 at 11:30AM also at the funeral chapel. Burial will follow in the Riverview Cemetery, Hancock.
