Obituary

A man of few words, Michael L. Kellam, 77, of Equinunk, PA, went home to rest after losing the battle of lung cancer, pneumonia, and other complications on October 30, 2025.

Michael was preceded in death by his father, Walter S. Kellam Sr.; mother, Elvira Kengen Kellam; and sister, Christine E. Kellam.

Michael was born on June 5, 1948 in Callicoon, NY. Michael was a loving son, husband, father, brother, uncle, and friend to all.

Michael was a life long logger and truck driver. He owned his own business, Michael Kellam Logging. Through the years, Mike employed some of the best men ever; he loved that brotherhood. Many memories were made in the woods and only they know what they were. He hauled logs for the late Mallery Lumber Co and Porosky Lumber. In the later years of his life, he worked with Robert Vairo Logging and Excavating. Mike loved his home that he built with his own hands and the land it sits on and lets not forget, John Deere tractors.

Mike is survived by his loving wife, Maureen (Reni) Leonardo Kellam, of 58 years; daughter, Kim Kellam Hunt and her husband, Scott, Lake Como, PA; brother, Walter Kellam Jr. and wife Kate, WV; sister, Nancy Fritz, Honesdale, PA; Theresa Scoville, WV; Patricia Kellam Allen, MO; and brother, Steven Kellam and wife Renay, Equinunk, PA; and many nieces and nephews.

There will be no funeral services as per Mike's request. There will be a visitation on Sunday, November 23, 2025 from 11AM-2PM at the Henderson-Biedekapp Funeral Chapel, Hancock, NY. Come join together, family and friends, to honor Mike Kellam.

In lieu of flowers, stop by your local pub and have a drink in memory of Mike.

They say old loggers never die, they just go to the woods.
