Michael M. Salvatore, 82, of Hancock, NY, died on Sunday, August 9, 2026, at home, surrounded by his family. He was born on June 16, 1944 in Hancock, NY, the son of Frank F. and Esther M. (Corzetto) Salvatore.

Mike married Beth Kenyon on October 1, 2022 in Hancock, NY, after 8 years together.

Mike was a hardworking and talented man who could fix, build, or create just about anything. A true handyman, he took great pride in rebuilding cars, maintaining his home and property, and putting his skills to work as a self-employed contractor and owner of Mike’s Contracting. In his earlier years, he owned and operated Mike’s bar. He also served his community as a Code Enforcement Officer for both the Town of Hancock and the Town of Sanford for many years. Above all, he cherished the time he spent with his grandchildren and looked forward to their yearly trips to Lake George, creating memories that will be treasured for generations

Surviving are his wife, Beth; 5 children: Denise Salvatore, Deana Salvatore, Olivia Kenyon, Juliana (Justin) Riccardi, and Tim (Sabrina) Kenyon; several grandchildren and several great grandchildren. Mike is also survived by 1 brother, Edward D. Salvatore; 2 sisters, Anne Garubba and Marie DeVore; many nieces and nephews; his beloved cat, Murphy; and his special friend, Jack Corazza. Mike was predeceased by his son, Michael “Mikie” Salvatore and 6 brothers.

Mike wishes were to be cremated and a private graveside service will be held at St. Paul’s Cemetery, Hancock.
