Norman M. Allen, 86, of Thompson, PA, died on Tuesday, March 13, 2018 at Wayne Memorial Hospital, after an illness. He was born on November 26, 1931 in Starlight, PA, the son of Edson and Clarabelle (Pobgee) Allen. Norman married Gail DuMond on October 25, 1959. He worked for PENNDOT for 20+ years and then retired from Mallery Lumber after 20+ years. Norman enjoyed ice fishing, gardening, and hunting. He often attended sharp shooting events at local turkey shoots that were held at Tomar Hunting Club and McCabe Hunting Club. Norman also enjoyed masonry work and was skilled at building stone walls and other stone work. Surviving are his wife, Gail, 4 children, Sharon (Stan) Czubowicz, Carolyn Ainsworth, Kathleen Allen, and Robert (Stacie) Allen, 8 grandchildren, and 7 great grandchildren. He is also survived by 5 siblings, Edwin (Edna) Allen, Audrey Buelle, Velma (Paul) Graham, Clair Allen, and Roberta Pope, and many nieces and nephews. Norman was predeceased by his son, Norman Mark Allen and several brothers and sisters. Calling hours will be held on Saturday, March 17, 2018 from 11AM-1PM with a funeral service following at 1PM all at the Henderson-Biedekapp Funeral Chapel, Hancock.
