Otto Thomas Paul Wadeson, 81, of Hancock, died on Friday, September 12, 2014 at home. He was born on July 2, 1933 in Cologne, Germany. Paul attended elementary school in Germany and high school in England and, after coming to the United States, attended Syracuse University, majoring in Geology, where he was a Phi Gamma Delta House Manager. Paul was a U.S. Army Veteran, serving from 1953-1955 as an enlisted soldier. He also served from 1961-1964 as a commissioned officer. He was a member of the Reserve Officer's Training Corps (ROTC), where he was recognized as a Distinguished Military Student and a Bridgade Commander. He also was a member of The National Society of Scabbard and Blade, a lifetime member of the NRA, and was a Paul Harris Fellow. Paul married Frances Rose Koch in 1963 in Hancock, NY, and she predeceased him in February 1997.Paul worked for the City of New York as an Assistant Civil Engineer for 30 years. Surviving are 2 sons, William T., and wife, Tammi, and John, all of Hancock, 3 grandchildren, Jessica Rose, Airman Christopher Wadeson, who is currently stationed in Germany, and Andrea Marie. He is also survived by a special friend, Suzanne Harlan of Florida, and 1 sister, Diana Brownlie. Paul was predeceased by a sister, Carol Wadeson.As per Paul's wishes, cremation took place and a private ceremony will be held at a future date with celebration of his life to follow.Memorial donations can be made in Paul's memory to the American Legion Post 289 210 Pennsylvania Ave. Hancock, NY 13783, or to the Hancock Rescue Squad and Fire Department, P.O.
