Pamela Rice, age 69, passed away on March 9th, 2024, after a two and a half year- long battle with cancer. Pam was born on July 17th, 1954, in Hancock, NY, to Vivian and James Crawford.

Pam graduated from Hancock Central School. Pam spent the beginning of her career as a Nurse at UHS Wilson and Binghamton General Hospitals and then advanced into Nursing Administration. She earned her BSN of Nursing from Delhi State University, and continued on to earn her Master's Degree from Liberty University. Pam was also involved in Hancock Youth League, Hancock Booster Club, PTA, Hancock Fire Department & EMS, Auxiliary, and was a member of the East of Branch Community Church.

After retirement, Pam enjoyed working as a substitute nurse at Hancock Central School, and spending time with her grandchildren.

Pam's passions included gardening, going to the beach and attending all of her grandchildren's sporting, dance and extracurricular events.

Pam is survived by her husband of 42 years, Robert A. Rice, her children Elizabeth Johnson, Joshua and Kristen Rice, step-children Robert and Sandie Rice, Denny and Cheri McMichael, her mother Vivian Leonard, Step-mother Romaine Crawford, her grandchildren Madilynn, Lincoln, Everly, Braidynn, Braylee, Robert, Matthew, Jacob, Emily, Bruce, Seth and Brooke, many uncles and loving family and friends. Pam was preceded in death by her father, James Crawford, and her sister Colleen Crawford.

Calling hours will be held on Friday, March 15, 2024 from 5-7Pm at the Henderson-Biedekapp Funeral Chapel, Hancock. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 16, 2024 at 11AM also at the funeral chapel. Burial will follow in Riverview Cemetery, Hancock.
