Patricia J. Charles OBoyle, 88, of Hancock, NY, passed away on Friday, May 5, 2017 at home, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on September 17, 1928 in Walton, NY, the daughter of Ralph and Bernice (Sheable) Elmore. Patricia was married to Reginald Charles, who predeceased her in 1967. She later married Joseph M. OBoyle who predeceased her in 2005. Pat was a well known and well loved member of the community. She was a 50 year member of the Hancock Fire Department Auxiliary, a member of the Emory United Methodist Church, and she retired from Becton Dickinson. Pat can be remembered as an avid Braves fan who enjoyed gambling and traveling to casinos. She also enjoyed knitting for her family. Surviving are 6 children, Cheryle (Michael) Makowski, Regina (Gail) Wrighter, Ricky E. Charles, Vicky (Ted) Cuvelier, Laurie (Dana) Ellis, and Theresa (Greg) Allen, 18 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren, and 2 great great granddaughters. She is also survived by 2 brothers, 2 sisters, 1 sister in law, and many nieces and nephews. Pat was predeceased by sister, Esther O'Dell, brother Richard Elmore, and daughter, Patricia Seely.Calling hours will be held on Thursday, May 11, 2017, from 10AM-1PM with a funeral service following at 1PM all at the Henderson-Biedekapp Funeral Chapel, Hancock. Burial will follow in Riverview Cemetery, Hancock.
