Paul S. Early, 88, passed away on September 11, 2015. He was born on his beloved farm to Robert and Louse Early in 1927 and lived on the farm in Sherman, PA for his whole life. Paul left high school to take over the family farm when his father passed. After selling the livestock in 1963, he worked briefly in a local factory and on road construction and eventually owned his own excavation business. Paul was united in marriage to Joyce (Shofkom) Early for 68 years and raised 2 daughters in their Sherman home. He is loved deeply by surviving wife Joyce; daughters, Joan Decker and partner Patrick Gorman; and Glenna Novak and Son In Law Bruce Novak; his granddaughters, Lindsey Novak and Alicia Mastropietro, and son in law Nicholas Mastropietro and 2 great grand children Macoy and Kinley Mastropietro. He is also survived by a sister, Joyce (Early) Lewis, a sister in law, Cordia Conklin and brother in laws, Faris Shofkom and Robert Palencar, along with several nieces and nephews.Paul was predeceased by grandson Ryan Novak, brother, Robert M Early and sister, Julia Palencar; sister in law Yvonne Shofkom; sister in law and brother in law Anita and Sidney Criddle; and brother in laws Donald Lewis and Vere Conklin.Paul loved nature and hunting and tinkering with all types of machinery and projects. He cherished his homestead and his family. Paul was loved for his honesty, integrity and loving heart. Services will be held on Thursday, September 17th, 2015 at the Deposit Community Church in Hale Eddy with calling hours from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM with a memorial service at 1:00 PM, followed by burial at his final resting place in Hale Eddy Cemetery.Memorial Donations in lieu of flowers can be sent to the American Heart Association at donatenow.heart.org or to Barnes Kasson Skilled Nursing Facility 2872 Turnpike St Susquehanna, Pa 18847.
