Paul Ford Somers, born September 3, 1953, passed away suddenly while working in the woods doing what he loved, on June 2, 2016. Paul had a true passion for the outdoors and enjoyed hunting and trapping in the Cadosia valley that he loved. His greatest joy and source of pride came from his family, which he built with the love of his life, Julie. Through 37 years of marriage, they raised their family in Paul's childhood home, filled with love, laughter and an always open door. There was no shortage of old school values and good common sense to be found and delivered in the straight forward way that only "Big Paul", "Ford", or "Poppy", could. For this reason, many different people found a strong shoulder, a listening ear, and an open heart, whether seated around his table or picking guitar at his tiki bar. Although his door was open to many, only a few were called his best friends and part of his close inner circle. He was predeceased by, his father Lawrence; his mother, Minnie (Mason) Somers; his sister, Myrna Dufton; and his brother, Lawrence, "Shorty", who was his stability, guidance, and strength. He is dearly loved and missed by his life's love, Julie Somers; his daughter, Rachel Tucker and husband, Luke; his son Paulie, and wife Michelle; and son, Christopher; Poppy's Best Buddy, Neil Ford; "Poppy's brats", Mason, Amelia, Aubrie, Justin, Ryan, Rylan, and Carolea; sister, Sharon Ostrander; many nieces and nephews; and great-nieces and nephews.
