Peggy R. Dufton, 73, of Hancock, passed away on Monday, December 5, 2022 at the home of her daughter, Sueann, surrounded by family. She was born on July 16, 1949 in Hancock, NY, the daughter of Ray C. and Dixie (Tompkins) Ronk. Peggy married Howard Dufton on June 28, 1974 in East Branch, NY. He predeceased her on May 29, 2005. Peggy was Elvis #1 fan! She enjoyed crossword puzzles, books, and being outdoors, especially camping and drinking a couple beers with Howard. She loved her time with her grandchildren. Peggy worked at Dedeco in Long Eddy, NY, for over 20 years. "I held your hand for every last breath. I whispered in your ear and told you that I love you and you are my heart and my soul. I watched a teardrop fall from your eye. I know I gave you peace and I looked at you and said it was okay to go. You're my angel, Mom. I love you." -Sueann Surviving are 1 daughter, Sueann (Lon Jr.) Kominski; 4 stepchildren; 2 grandsons, Dakota (Cara Wells) and Dylon (Haliey); 4 great grandchildren: Dakota Jr., Octavia, Jacklyn, and Parker; and a grandson, Ryder, expected in January. Peggy is also survived by her siblings: Arleen Kilgore, Lois Hudnall, Theresa Hogge and Paul Ronk; special cousins, Eric and Freddy Shakespeare; and many other members of her family and Howards family who all loved her. She was predeceased by her son, Bruce, at 6 months old and her daughter, Katina in 1989. A graveside service will be held on Saturday, April 22, 2023 at 11AM in Partridge Island Cemetery, Fishs Eddy, NY. A Celebration of Life will follow at 1626 Tar Hollow Rd., Hancock, NY, 13783.
