Ralph Van Possemato, 69 of Hancock, NY passed away peacefully at home on May 15, 2023.
Ralph was born in Hancock, NY to Ralph R. and Anna Mae (Vander Voort) Possemato on December 16, 1953. He graduated from Hancock Central School and attended SUNY Delhi where he was a member of TKM fraternity. Ralph still gathered with his fraternity brothers each summer. He married Dawne Karcher Possemato on February 2, 1974 at St. Paul's Catholic Church in Hancock, NY. Ralph was a mechanic and owned and operated Hancock Mobil for 25 years. His many loyal customers knew him as a mechanic that could fix anything. Ralph also was a private pilot and a member of the White Birch Flying Club. Ralph was an excellent caretaker for his mother before her passing. Through the years Ralph had several special friends who he spent many quality hours with visiting and taking to medical appointments.
Ralph is predeceased his by paternal grandparents Rocco Possemato and Theresa Elizabeth DeSerio Possemato, his maternal grandparents Camiel Vander Voort and Anna Mae Barnickle Vander Voort, his parents Ralph R. Possemato and Anna Mae Vander Voort Possemato, many beloved Aunts and Uncles who he loved to spend time with and four beloved German Shepards.
Ralph is survived by his wife of 49 years, Dawne, three daughters Meegan Possemato (Andrew Planey) of Scranton, PA, Shanley O'Donnell (Brendan O'Donnell) of Landisville, PA and Kyle Ritz Possemato (Casey Ritz) of Syracuse, NY, sister Deborah Griesinger (Steve), brother Harvey Possemato (Angela), grandchildren Leo Ritz, Owen O'Donnell, Eliza Ritz, brothers-in-law Donald Karcher (Jean Ann), Jerrold Karcher (Melanie), sisters-in-law Donna Karcher and Helen Mallery, aunts Florence Vitale and Mary Vander Voort, several nieces and nephews, his close friend Andy Senia, and his cousins, many of which were also his close friends, Frank, Rocky, Carme, Jimmy, Scott and Todd.
Funeral mass will be held on Saturday May 20th, 2023 at noon at St. Paul's Church followed by a luncheon at Father Rauch Hall.
