IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Randolph
Ripple
August 20, 1963 – September 4, 2023
Randolph "Randy" Ripple, age 60, of Windsor, NY passed away Monday, September 4, 2023.
Randy was born in Honesdale, Pennsylvania on August 20, 1963 to parents Coral and Jacob (Bill) Ripple, Jr. Randy worked at Camp Wayne for Girls in Preston Park for 37 years, where he met his longtime love, Rosemarie (Rosie) Ray. Randy also worked alongside his father at camp for 27 of those years as well as his brother for a few years. He loved being a part of the camp and especially enjoyed fishing and hunting during the off season on the grounds. Randy made many special friends throughout his career at Camp Wayne. He never hesitated to help anyone, no matter how small or large the project was – he never asked for anything in return. Randy was happiest when he was fishing or busy working with his hands.
His passion for fishing has been passed on to our son Jacob who began fishing with Randy as soon as he could hold a fishing pole. They enjoyed getting out in the boat at Deer Lake, Camp Wayne, Upperwoods Pond and Reflection Lakes. Randy and Jacob also ice-fished often with Randy's dad, catching trout, bass, and perch. They even fished from the shoreline, fishing many different lakes, streams, rivers and reservoirs where they competed to see who landed the largest fish or the most fish. Jacob and Randy shared a love of watching football and hockey and often were fans of opposing teams. Randy was a diehard NY Jets and NY Rangers fan, religiously tuning in to every game.
Randy had several special pets throughout his life that he loved dearly. He spent many years hunting rabbits with his beloved beagle Sass. Randy always carried dog treats on his golf cart at work for all the dogs that came to camp in the summer with the seasonal staff. He left behind 3 loving dogs; Ellie, Cindy and Foxy and 3 cats; Willy, Cannon and Muffy. Randy spent many days pheasant hunting with our dog Cindy, one time losing her to another hunting party that almost took her home. It wasn't until later in life that Randy discovered that he really did love cats. He quickly befriended Willy, who we rescued as an infant and had to bottle feed. Willy loved to be scooped up by Randy so he could lovingly rub his head on Randy's stubble and sit on his shoulder.
He is survived by his longtime partner, Rosemarie (Rosie) Ray of 21 years and their beloved son Jacob Ripple, parents Coral and Jacob (Bill) Ripple, Jr of Equinunk, PA, brother William Ripple of Pleasant Mount, PA, sister Holly (Eric) Coulter of Hawley, PA, several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
The family will receive visitors at Henderson-Biedekapp Funeral Chapel, Hancock, NY from 11AM-1PM and a memorial service will follow at 1PM on Sunday, September 17, 2023.
In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in Randy's honor to The American Foundation for Suicide Prevention, www.afsp.org , or Camp Freedom, https://www.campfreedompa.org/
