Rebecca J. Eldred, 80, of Equinunk, PA, passed away on Thursday, July 29, 2021, at home, after an illness. She was born on June 18, 1941 in Hancock, NY, the daughter of Arthur and Anna (Diamond) Dillon. Becky married Harry E. Eldred Sr. on September 2, 1961 in the Equinunk Methodist Church, Equinunk, PA. Becky graduated from Hancock Central School, Hancock, NY and Wayne Commercial School in Honesdale, PA. She was employed at Katz and Blum Furniture in Honesdale, PA, and worked many years at Becton Dickinson in Hancock, NY. She was a member of the Equinunk Methodist Church for many years. Becky was active as a ladies aide in the church and was always willing to help with church dinners or wherever help was needed. She also helped the Equinunk Fire Department in the kitchen on various different occasions, including their famous chicken bbq. Becky enjoyed flowers, hummingbirds, gardening, and she loved going to amusement parks where she was eager to ride all the rides. She was also a lover of nature and all of its creatures. Becky especially loved her grandchildren, who all made her smile. Surviving are her husband of almost 60 years, Harry, 4 children, Harry E. Jr. (Lisa Sue), Lisa Ann Eldred, Michael (Mary), and Melissa (David) Haviland, 11 grandchildren, who lovingly called her "Meka", Marisa (Kendra), Hollie, Cody (Krystal), Kevin, Mathew, Mikala-Lyn, Bridget, Bryce, Maeleigh, Jorden, and Juleighanna, and 9 great grandchildren. She is also survived by 1 sister, Sharon Gill, and several nieces and nephews. Becky was predeceased by her parents, stepfather, Marco Lanzoni, 2 brothers, Donald and Arthur Dillon, and 1 sister, Mildred Roll. Calling hours will be held on Monday, August 2, 2021 from 4-7PM at the Henderson-Biedekapp Funeral Chapel, Hancock. A funeral will be held on Tuesday, August 3, 2021 at 11AM at the Equinunk United Methodist Church, Equinunk, PA. Interment will follow in Pine Mill Cemetery, Equinunk, PA.
