Richard L. Price, 75, of Hancock, NY, passed away peacefully at home on January 22, 2024. Dick was a graduate of Hancock Central School and Broome Tech, earning a degree in civil engineering. He dedicated his career to the New York State Department of Transportation, holding various positions for many years before retiring from Hancock Residency in 2003.

In addition to his engineering work, Dick had a passion for watercolor painting and was renowned for his skill in depicting local rural scenes. He served as president of the North East Watercolor Society and received numerous awards for his artwork. In his leisure time, he could often be found on the golf course during warmer months or participating in bowling leagues in the cooler months. Dick was also an avid outdoorsman, enjoying hunting and fishing.

He is survived by his loving wife, Dorothy Price, his sons Chris (Nicole) and Shawn (Claire) Price, grandsons Conor and Owen Price, his brother John (Marion) Price, special cousin Barbara Hanstine and Gail Schoonmaker, as well as nieces, nephews, and cousins. Dick will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Calling hours will be held on Saturday, January 27, 2024 from 11AM-1PM with a memorial service following at 1PM all that the Henderson-Biedekapp Funeral Chapel, Hancock.
