Rita Keesler, 80, of East Branch, NY, passed away suddenly on Sunday, October 23, 2022. She was born on October 14, 1942 in Honesdale, PA, the daughter of Raymond and Alice (VanDriesen) Gummoe. Rita was married to Martin B. Keesler for 59 years before he predeceased her on August 27, 2019. She enjoyed sewing, making quilts, crocheting, and baking. Rita loved her time spent with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Surviving are 2 daughters, Ginger Taggart (Dan), and Jody (Jeff) Millard; bonus daughter, Elaine Lehr; 6 grandchildren, Alicia (Mitch) Persbacker, Joshua (Ashley) Millard, Jackie Millard, Leanne Norwood, Rhonda Reynolds, and Andrea Reynolds; 16 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. A special recognition to Cindy Felter and Michele Young Hammond who held a special place in her heart along with many others of their families. Rita was predeceased by a daughter, Candace; grandson, Tony Eggler; and 2 sisters, Betty Felter and Alberta Young. A graveside service will be held on Thursday, October 27, 2022 at 12 Noon in East Branch Cemetery, East Branch, NY. Arrangements by Henderson-Biedekapp Funeral Chapel, Hancock.
