Robert J. Florance, 90, of Hancock and Owego, NY, died on Tuesday, November 21, 2023 at Vestal Park Rehabilitation and Nursing Center. He was born on May 31, 1933 in Pompton Lakes, NJ, the son of Charles Florance and Elsie Romaine Florance.

Bob very much loved his family. He enjoyed baseball and in his younger days played professional baseball for the Cardinal's farm team. He was also an avid Mets and Jets fan. Bob served in the Air Force and was a member of the American Legion in Hancock. He enjoyed woodworking and attending Buckingham Baptist Church with his wife, Fran. Bob was a police officer in New Jersey, and for many years worked as a tool and die maker at Bard Parker in Hancock, NY.

Surviving are his wife, Frances, 2 daughters, Robyn (Harold) Renwick, and Carol (Gordie) Hill; stepchildren, Susan (Tom) Grassi, Victoria (Ted) Goedel, Robin (Derek) VonLangen, Janet (Grayling) Martin, and Samuel (Traci) Costello. He is also survived by his brother, Joe, and sisters, Joan and Dot, and many grandchildren and great grandchildren. Bob was predeceased by his parents; brother, George; sister, Evelyn; and stepson, Roger Costello.

Bob's wish was for cremation. Calling hours are Saturday, December 9, 2023 from 11AM-1PM with a service at 1PM all at the Henderson-Biedekapp Funeral Chapel, Hancock. Burial will follow in Riverview Cemetery in Hancock.
