Roger Rutledge of Lakewood, PA, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, October 10th after a brief illness. Roger was born on February 1st, 1951 to Donald and Jeanette Rutledge. He grew up on the family farm where in turn raised his family. He was a life-long farmer and later in life was also a logger. When Roger was not busy working in the hayfields or woods he could be found hunting and fishing. He took great pleasure in spending time with his children, grandchildren, friends, or riding with his dog.Roger is survived by his mother, Jeanette Rutledge of Lakewood, PA, wife Delores Rutledge, Lakewood, and their three children, daughter, Marge Burden and her husband Jim and their two children Kristin and Andrew, son Aaron Rutledge and his wife Sadie, and son Jason Rutledge and his wife Michelle and their two children Austin and Malorie. He is also survived by his faithful riding companion, his dog, Penny. Roger was one of four children and is survived by a brother Leroy Rutledge and his wife Barbara, sister, Karen Sampson and her husband Jerry, and a sister Linda Wiebel. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.A celebration of Roger's life was held at his son's home. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Roger's name to the Pleasant Mount 4-H program. Roger will be dearly missed by his family and friends.
