Ronald "Cono" DeLuca, Retired Advertising Executive and Philanthropist, Dies at age 91Ronald "Cono" DeLuca, age 91, a resident of Hancock, N.Y., died on August 16, 2016, from complications of a long illness. Ronald was surrounded by his loving family at the time of his passing.Ronald was born on October 28, 1924, in Reading, P.A., to Nicholas and Grace DeLuca. He was the oldest of eight children.Ronald attended Reading High School. Upon graduation, he enlisted in the Army Air Corps and served as a supply sergeant during World War II from 1941 to 1944. After being discharged from the Air Corps he attended Pratt Institute in Brooklyn and later graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Syracuse University. Ronald went on to build a successful career in advertising that spanned more than 43 years. His campaign for the Chrysler Corporation was widely credited with rescuing the troubled automaker in the 1980s. During his time at Syracuse, Ronald met and later married his wife of 63 years, Lois Ann Hall, settling first in Brooklyn, and later in Ardsley, N.Y., where they raised their family.After retiring from advertising in 1994, Ronald and Lois moved to Hancock, N.Y., where they had camped with their family at Kingswood for over 40 years. He used his passion for helping people and for education to invest in his new community by founding The Hancock Community Education Foundation. He also completed a forthcoming story collection, "Cono, ."Ronald is survived by his wife Lois, his children; Christine DeLuca Lotto, Diane DeLuca-Walker, Patricia DeLuca, Maria DeLuca, Lisa DeLuca-Downey and Nicholas DeLuca as well as 11 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren and two brothers, Natale DeLuca and Anthony DeLuca.A memorial service for Ronald will be held on Saturday October 22, at the Emory United Methodist Church, 89 E Main St, Hancock, N.Y. Family will gather at 9 a.m. Services follow at 11 a.m. with a reception. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The Hancock Community Education Foundation.P.O.
