Ronald A. Karcher, formerly of Orlando, FL and Starlight, PA, most recently residing in Johnson City, NY, died on Monday, September 20, 2021 at Wilson Medical Center in Johnson City, NY. He was born on February 11, 1943 in Deposit, NY, the son of Harold O. and Ruth J. (Shanly) Karcher. He grew up on his familys farm in Scott Center, PA and attended Hancock Central School in Hancock, NY. As a young man, Ronnie enjoyed racing stock cars; and later made his living as a skilled auto and machine mechanic. Ronnie married Patricia (Patty) Diehl in 1989, and they resided in Starlight, PA until her death in 2006. Ron later relocated to Orlando, FL, where he lived until May of this year.
In addition to his parents, Ron was predeceased by his wife, Patty, two brothers: Harold and Vaughn, his twin sister, Ruth Ann Geer, who died in April of 2021; and his beloved dog, Queenie. He is survived by several nieces and nephews, in addition to many special friends and poker buddies in Florida and the Northeast. His hearty laugh and delicious baked goods, including his famous chocolate chip cookies, will be missed by all those who loved him.
A graveside service will be held on Sunday, June 12th, 2022 at 11:00 am at the Balls Eddy Cemetery, Penn York Rd, Starlight, PA 18461, with The Reverend Dr. Roxy Moses officiating.
