Ronald S. Whitney, 80, of Starlight, PA, died on Wednesday, January 28, 2015 at Wayne Memorial Hospital, Honesdale, PA, after a short illness. He was born on January 25, 1935 in Preston Park, PA, the son of Stanley and Hazel (Baldwin) Whitney. Ronnie married Agnes Gately on July 8, 1955 in Starrucca, PA. Ronnie enjoyed hunting, fishing, square dancing, and baseball games, especially his grandson's, Tyler. He was a great story teller, a good provider, and a very strong man, having overcome several health battles. Ronnie was a past member of the Northern Wayne Fire Dept., Lakewood, PA. Surviving are his wife Agnes, 8 daughters, Kim and husband Bob Kane, Cindy and husband Joe Giordano, Patty and husband Gary Stanton, Barbara and husband Timothy Keely, Karen and husband Shaun Gotthardt, Ronda and husband Andrew Tyson, Yvonne and husband Charlie Dirig, and Paula Rizzo and significant other, Tony Smith, 17 grandchildren, and 20 great grandchildren. Ronnie is also survived by many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a grandson, Eric Gotthardt, 2 sisters, Shirley Whitney, and Merle and her husband Fred Kent, and 1 brother, Gail Whitney and wife Joyce. There will be 1 hour for visitation on Monday, February 2, 2015 from 10-11AM with a funeral service following at 11AM all at the Henderson-Biedekapp Funeral Chapel, Hancock. Burial will follow in the Lake Como Cemetery, Lake Como, PA. Donations can be made in Ronnie's memory to the Buckingham Baptist Church, P.O.
